The Carrier Mission

Carrier Records was formed in 2009 by Jeff Snyder, David Brynjar Franzson, and Sam Pluta in order to create a venue for the release and dissemination of concert, improvised, and experimental music from New York and elsewhere. The label's goal is to release a wide range of styles and sound worlds, while maintaining the highest quality releases possible.

In our first two years of operation Carrier Records has released 6 albums, ranging from the newest notated music of Timetable Percussion, Wet Ink Ensemble, Music =quals, and The San Diego Composers Collective, to improvisations by Glissando Bin Laden and Architeuthis Walks on Land. In the coming months we plan releases from Yarn/Wire, Alex Mincek, The Kenners, duos by Sam Pluta with Jim Altieri, Peter Evans, and George Lewis, as well as a compilation of the best noise music of 2010. In 2011 we plan releases from Ensemble Pamplemousse, Dan Iglesia, Wet Ink Ensemble, and David Brynjar Franzson.
